Conor Carty brought the curtain down on a successful loan spell at St Patrick's Athletic by helping them claim the Sports Direct FAI Cup on Sunday.
Carty, who joined the League of Ireland side back in February for the duration of their campaign, netted five goals in 37 appearances for Saints, impressing sufficiently enough to earn his first call-up to the Republic of Ireland U21 squad this past summer.
The 21-year-old played 75 minutes in Sunday's final at the Aviva Stadium in front of a record-crowd of 43,881, before being replaced by Tommy Lonergan, as St Pats clinched a 3-1 victory over Bohemians.
His side fell behind early when Jonathan Afolabi scored from the penalty spot inside nine minutes, but Jon Daly's side hit back midway through the opening period through Mark Doyle before taking the lead two minutes after the break when Krystian Nowak put through his own goal.
Lonergan, Carty's replacement, would then complete the scoring four minutes from time to secure a fifth FAI Cup - their second in three seasons.
For Carty, whose contract at Bolton comes to an end in June 2024, the future remains uncertain, although he will be unable to play for Wanderers until January as international clearance cannot be granted outside of the transfer window.
