Ian Evatt was happy with Bolton's 1-1 draw at Ipswich Town, praising the attitude of his players despite what he described as a disappointing second-half performance.

Wanderers took a 25th-minute lead at Portman Road after Aaron Morley converted from the penalty spot, but Town came back to take a point after Lee Evans fired home from a corner routine seven minutes before the break.

Speaking after the game, Evatt felt his side were in the ascendancy until the hosts' equaliser, after which he admits the Tractor Boys were on top for large spells.

"It's a very good point," Evatt told OfficialBWFC on YouTube. "I don't think many teams will come here and get anything.

"The first 35 minutes I thought we had control. We were aggressive, our pressing intensity was excellent and we were on the front foot. We had lots of set-plays and then their set-play rocked us - it came out of nothing.

"We had to get to half-time and we did that, then in the second-half we didn't link enough passes. I think we made the game transitional which suited them.

"We didn't have enough control or bravery in possession. Credit to them, they're a good team, they pressed us and caused us problems and so we had to show a completely different side to us. Resilience, energy, work ethic and being there for each other, which I thought we did in abundance.

"I asked the players before the game for energy and attitude. They gave me that but we just needed to add some more quality, especially in the second-half.

"But they're a very good team. They're very well coached. They asked us lots of questions and maybe in previous years under my tenure we'd have lost that game.

"We showed excellent resilience, excellent attitude to stay in the game and get something out of it."
