Bolton Draw Crewe and Tranmere in Papa John's Trophy

Bolton have been drawn alongside Crewe Alexandra and Tranmere Rovers in the group stage of the 2022/23 Papa John's Trophy.
Wanderers have been placed in Group B of the Northern Section of the competition, which will be completed this coming Thursday when 'Invited' Premier League clubs will be added to the group stage.
Ian Evatt's side will host an under-21 side from Everton, Leeds United, Leicester City, Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United, Newcastle United or Wolverhampton Wanderers.
One of the aforementioned League Two sides will visit the University of Bolton Stadium, while the Trotters will hit the road just once.
The opening round of fixtures, which will be confirmed in due course, will take place in the week commencing August 29, 2022.
