Andrew Tutte has been offered the opportunity to prolong his stay at Bolton with a coaching role within the club's new B-Team set-up.

Tutte, whose playing contract with Wanderers comes to an end on June 30, featured just once at first-team level this past season and spent the majority of the campaign sidelined with a series of hamstring and associated calf problems.

With just 21 appearances to his name over the course of the last two years, the 31-year-old may be forced to accept his best days are behind him and could look forward to the next stage of his career.

As per a report by The Bolton News, Tutte's experience could prove invaluable for a number of free agent or non-league recruits set to arrive at the University of Bolton Stadium in the coming weeks, especially if Alex Baptiste sticks to his guns by holding out for one final playing contract elsewhere in the EFL pyramid.

First-team coach Sam Hird has taken charge of reserve-team fixtures since his arrival from Barrow last summer, although the 34-year-old is said to be on the radar of the Bluebirds as they look to replace the outgoing Phil Brown following their late survival in League Two.
