Rangers are expected to test Bolton's resolve by making a move for Oladapo Afolayan, according to a report by journalist Alan Nixon.

Afolayan, who scooped a number of Player of the Year awards at the end of a campaign in which he scored 14 goals in 51 appearances for Wanderers, has two years remaining on his contract at the University of Bolton Stadium and is said to be valued in the region of £1.5million.

With speculation over the future of Ryan Kent, the Europa League finalists are said to be looking at potential replacements should the winger depart Ibrox over the summer, with Afolayan's age, skill set and attacking returns making him an attractive prospect.

Rangers have already secured the runners-up position in this season's Scottish Premiership, booking a place in the third qualifying round of next term's UEFA Champions League, although they will advance straight through to the group stage should they beat Eintracht Frankfurt in Seville this coming Wednesday.
