Dennis Politic's time as a Bolton player has come to an end after he completed a permanent transfer to Italian side Cremonese.

Politic, who had been with Wanderers since the age of 15, has made a reported £50,000 move to the Serie B side, who will potentially see their fee rise following the inclusion of a sell-on clause.

The 21-year-old made 30 first-team appearances during his time with the Trotters but hadn't featured since March 2020 due to a lengthy absence with a cruciate ligament injury, going on to spend the first-half of the current campaign on loan at Port Vale.

Having been recalled from his stay at Vale Park earlier in the week, Politic flew to Italy to complete a medical and has since put pen to paper on an 18-month deal with the option of a further year.

Upon confirmation of Politic's departure, Bolton boss Ian Evatt thanked the player for his efforts during a difficult time both on and off the field at the University of Bolton Stadium.

"Financially it's a good deal for us with everything that has been built in to make it happen and protect our interests, so it's a good move for the club and for Dennis," Evatt told

"He played at some difficult times for the club but also had some good moments and memories and we wish him well for the future.

"He had a really bad injury at the start of last season but he's a tough young man who's come back well to earn this opportunity.

"We'll see how his career develops from here and hope he goes on to be a success in Italy which will be great for him, and potentially, us in the long term."
