Bolton have completed the signing of Manchester City goalkeeper James Trafford on a loan deal that will run through until the end of the season.

Trafford, who has been with City since the age of 12, has featured in two Papa John's Trophy fixtures for the Citizens, while he also figured 11 times whilst on loan at Accrington Stanley in the first-half of the current campaign.

The 19-year-old has represented England at youth level up to his current status in the under-20 squad, and Wanderers boss Ian Evatt admits he jumped at the opportunity to sign Trafford after watching him play on a number of occasions.

"I've seen James play a fair bit and watched him play for England a few times," Evatt told bwfc.co.uk.

"With Chris Markham (Wanderers' Technical Performance Director) coming from the FA we know people who have done a lot of work with James and how highly thought of he is within the England group and with Manchester City.

"We're very lucky to have him and for Manchester City trusting us with him and we think he'll make a difference to us.

"He's only young but he's a real leader, a big boy, an aggressive boy and we're fortunate to have him in the building to help us until the end of the season."

Trafford will wear the number 19 shirt during his time at the University of Bolton Stadium and will be eligible for Saturday's clash with Ipswich Town.
