Ian Evatt has challenged Xavier Amaechi to prove his worth after his loan from Hamburg was extended until the end of the season.
Amaechi initially linked up with Wanderers this past June but a fractured foot suffered in a pre-season friendly against Preston North End the following month denied him the opportunity to debut in a competitive fixture until November.
The 21-year-old has struggled since then, starting just two of his eight appearances in all competitions, but with half of the season yet to play Evatt believes the winger can now concentrate on his football and consistency of performances.
"We're really glad he's still with us," Evatt told bwfc.co.uk.
"He's had a stop-start season and we just need to get him going with a clear run for the rest of the season.
"The same could be said of a few of the players, so it will be good for him to get some regular games and show us what can do.
"We've seen flashes of it and it's an opportunity for him now and he has to take it."
