Ross Joyce will referee Saturday's Sky Bet League One fixture between Bolton and Cheltenham Town at the University of Bolton Stadium.

Wanderers go into the game on the back of a 3-0 home victory over Doncaster Rovers this past Tuesday, while Town were 2-0 winners at Gillingham that same evening.

Joyce, who will take charge of the game, has officiated 14 matches so far this season - issuing 53 yellow cards and two red.

His most recent outing was on November 23, when he was the man in the middle for Portsmouth's 3-0 victory at Lincoln City in League One. The Cleveland official brandished four yellow cards at the LNER Stadium, split evenly at two per side.

Joyce's last match in charge of Bolton was in December 2020, when they came from three-down to draw 3-3 with Carlisle United in a League Two clash at Brunton Park. Seven players were cautioned that afternoon, while Wanderers defender Peter Kioso was dismissed in second-half stoppage time.

The last time he refereed a Cheltenham fixture was in November 2019, as they were beaten 3-1 by Port Vale in an Emirates FA Cup second-round tie at the Jonny-Rocks Stadium. Two players went into the book that day, both of whom were in the losing Robins team.
