Shoulder Specialist to Decide MJ Williams Prognosis

MJ Williams will discover by the weekend whether he will need to undergo surgery to repair damage caused by the dislocation of his shoulder.

Williams suffered the injury in last Saturday's defeat at Wycombe Wanderers and missed Tuesday's victory over Doncaster Rovers as a result - a game for which Bolton had just 13 senior outfield players available for selection.

The 26-year-old faces the prospect of three months on the sidelines should he have to go under the knife, and Trotters boss Ian Evatt is hopeful a month-long programme of strength and conditioning can prove to be a viable alternative.

"MJ's seeing a specialist on Friday," Evatt told the Manchester Evening News. "We'll then know if it needs an immediate operation and if that's the case, then it'll be 12 weeks.

"If it's not and we can get away with just strengthening then it's probably more like three to four but we're hopeful that it'll be the latter."
