Ian Evatt praised his threadbare squad as they beat 10-man Doncaster Rovers 3-0 at the University of Bolton Stadium on Tuesday.

Eoin Doyle, Elias Kachunga and George Thomason were all on target for Wanderers, who entered the game with just 13 senior outfield players available for selection.

Speaking after the game, Evatt admitted focus now turns to recovery, having lost Lloyd Isgrove (hamstring) and Oladapo Afolayan (suspension) for Saturday's clash against Cheltenham Town, and keeping his players in as good a condition as possible.

"In the first 20 minutes I thought we were a bit too passive," Evatt told OfficialBWFC on YouTube. "We were a bit lacklustre, possibly from the journey on Saturday.

"We needed a spark and we got the goal from Doyle, which is what we've missed, then obviously they get the sending off and we take over the game to win it comfortably.

"But, for now, we're more focused on keeping people in one piece and on the pitch.

"It's two wins out of three and we've won our last two home games. We know we've got work to do and have a lot of fixtures before we get to January when we can get some more bodies in and regroup with some of the others returning to fitness, so for now we'll enjoy the victory but turn our focus quickly on to Saturday.

"It's all we can do as it's all we've got. We were a substitute light and two of those on the bench were young kids. It is what it is, we've just got to try and regroup then get everybody through Saturday.

"We're just going to get our heads down and keep working hard. We've had a difficult spell - teams go through those - and for us it's about keeping our focus, our confidence high and keeping the group fit."
