Gethin Jones faces a spell on the sidelines after scans confirmed he has suffered a fractured leg.

Jones, who had been due to miss Bolton's game against Wigan Athletic through suspension, suffered the blow in training this past week and will visit a specialist next week to discover the duration of his absence.

Speaking following Saturday's defeat to Latics, Wanderers boss said Jones' lengthy lay-off will provide an opportunities for others to prove their worth, whilst also offering updates on the fitness of both Kieran Lee and Declan John.

"Gethin has a fractured fibula," Evatt told OfficialBWFC on YouTube.

"That's not good news so he'll see a specialist on Wednesday and we'll take it from there.

"We've got a really busy period so people are going to have to step up to the plate and that's an opportunity.

"Kieran is slightly better and Declan's scan was positive but like any injury it's symptomatic and only they know, truly, how they feel.

"We'll monitor them and hopefully they'll be okay for Tuesday but there's no guarantees."
