Ian Evatt was left ruing the performance of referee David Rock after Bolton were beaten 1-0 by Sheffield Wednesday at Hillsborough.

Lee Gregory scored the only goal as Wanderers' three-match winning run was brought to a halt and although Evatt felt his team contributed to their own downfall, the Trotters boss believes a number of key decisions went against them.

Speaking after the full-time whistle, Evatt expressed opinion that Dominic Iorfa should have been dismissed prior to half-time, whilst also pointing to a booking given to Oladapo Afolayan and how the Owls got away with a late penalty scare.

"I feel Iorfa should have been off the pitch," Evatt told OfficialBWFC on YouTube.

"We saw in the Liverpool v Man City game that these big decisions have an impact on the game.

"They struggled to get the ball with 11 men so if they go down to 10 we punish them, keep the ball and it'd be very hard for them.

"I think the first one was a clear yellow card and then to bring Kieran Lee down on the edge of the box when he's in on goal should be another yellow card.

"There were yellow cards given in that game which were for lesser tackles than that.

"I feel sorry for Dapo (Afolayan). He was about to shoot and probably score in the second-half, and he gets booked for simulation when it's a clear foul.

"I've watched it back many times. It's a clear foul and you can't get that wrong.

"Then there's a handball at the end which we've seen given. His hand was away from his body and it's hit his arm.

"We just didn't get the rub of the green today."
