Bolton look set to be without Andrew Tutte for the remainder of the year after he was ruled out for 'three to four months' with a torn hamstring.
Tutte suffered the injury in a reserve-team fixture against Accrington Stanley last week and was sent for scans to discover the full extent of the problem.
With the results back, Wanderers boss Ian Evatt has confirmed the 30-year-old will not be available any time soon, potentially leaving him short of defensive midfield options with MJ Williams just one yellow card away from a suspension.
"He has got quite a bad one," Evatt told The Bolton News.
"It is actually a grade four hamstring tear, which basically means that the tendon in the hamstring has come off the bone.
"As a result, it looks like it is going to be surgery and he will be three to four months out."
