Scott Oldham will referee Tuesday's Papa John's Trophy group stage tie between Bolton and Port Vale at the University of Bolton Stadium.

Wanderers go into the game on the back of a 1-0 defeat at Cambridge United on Saturday, while Vale were 2-0 winners at Forest Green Rovers that same afternoon.

Oldham, who will take charge of the game, has officiated six matches so far this season - issuing 12 yellow cards and one red.

His most recent outing was on August 27, when he was the man in the middle for Burton Albion's 1-1 draw with Cheltenham Town in League One. The Lancashire official brandished three yellow cards at the Pirelli Stadium, two of which went to members of the home side.

Oldham's last match in charge of Bolton was in February 2020, when they were 2-0 winners over Tranmere Rovers in a League One clash at the University of Bolton Stadium. One player went into the book that afternoon - Wanderers defender Kean Bryan.

The last time he refereed a Port Vale fixture was in December 2020, as they ran out 2-1 winners over Wolverhampton Wanderers U21 in a Papa John's Trophy encounter at Vale Park. One player was cautioned on that occasion - Valiants defender Shaun Brisley.

Below is the full set of officials for Tuesday's game between Bolton and Port Vale:
