Thomas Bramall will referee Tuesday's Carabao Cup second-round tie between Wigan Athletic and Bolton at the DW Stadium.

Wanderers go into the game on the back of a 2-1 victory at home to Oxford United on Saturday, while Latics were 2-0 winners at Charlton Athletic that same afternoon.

Bramall, who will take charge of the game, has officiated four matches so far this season - issuing 13 yellow cards and one red.

His most recent outing was on August 17, when he was the man in the middle for Peterborough United's 2-2 draw with Cardiff City in the Championship. The Sheffield official brandished three yellow cards at the Weston Homes Stadium, two of which went to members of the visiting side.

Bramall's last match in charge of Bolton was in March 2020, when they held Burton Albion to a 2-2 draw in a League One clash at the Pirelli Stadium. Two players went into the book that evening, including Wanderers defender Toto Nsiala.

The last time he refereed a Wigan fixture was on February 27, as they were beaten 2-1 by Peterborough in a League One encounter at the Weston Homes Stadium. Four players were cautioned that afternoon, including Latics defender Luke Robinson.
