Bolton goalkeeper Matthew Alexander has joined non-league Lancaster City on a season-long youth loan.
Alexander, who has made two senior appearances for Wanderers, both of which came in the early stages of the 2019/20 campaign, will link up with the Northern Premier League Premier Division side ahead of their trip to Grantham Town this coming Saturday.
The 19-year-old is behind both Matt Gilks and Joel Dixon in the pecking order at the University of Bolton Stadium, and with Luke Hutchinson currently gaining first-team experience on a similar loan deal at Atherton Collieries, Trotters bosses have decided the time is right to provide Alexander with an opportunity of his own.
Under the terms of a youth loan, Alexander will be eligible to feature in reserve team matches for Bolton this season.
