Lloyd Isgrove has committed his future to Bolton, signing a new contract which will run through until the summer of 2023.

Isgrove, who joined Wanderers on a free transfer from Swindon Town in September 2020, made 34 appearances during his debut campaign at the University of Bolton Stadium and firmly established himself as a key component on the right-hand side of an attacking four in the latter part of the season.

The 28-year-old has previous experience of the third tier through stints at Peterborough United, Barnsley and Portsmouth, respectively, and it was during a loan stint at Barnsley in 2016 that he earned promotion to the Championship via the play-offs.

Isgrove has made no secret of his desire to remain with the Trotters and admits the opportunity to progress back up the EFL pyramid was one he had prepared for prior to joining the club last summer.

"When I signed for this club I knew it wasn’t where it should be in League Two," Isgrove told bwfc.co.uk.

"So, to take this little step in the right direction has been amazing for me.

"I am really looking forward to getting going for next season."

Wanderers boss Ian Evatt added to Isgrove's comments, saying: "Izzy has earned his new deal and I'm delighted for him.

"He's larger than life as a character and is a big part of the dressing room.

"Towards the end of the season he started to add goals to his game, which was very pleasing."
