2020/21 has been a unique season at Bolton, who have played out almost the entirety of only their second-ever campaign in the fourth-tier behind closed doors.

The curtailment of the 2019/20 season, brought on by the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, means it has been two years since Gary O'Neil took the Player of the Year award with 34.62% of a public vote.

O'Neil, who these days works as a first-team coach at AFC Bournemouth following his retirement from the professional game, will finally relinquish his grasp of the Burnden Aces trophy in May, when a new first-time winner is crowed.

This year, eight players are eligible for your votes after they fell into the following criteria:

- Players must have been at the club since the closure of the summer transfer window.
- Players must have made a minimum of 20 starts in all competitions by the end of March.

Votes can be made using the poll on the right-hand side of the website. The polls will close at noon on May 8, 2021, with the winner being announced following the conclusion of Wanderers' final game of the regular season at Crawley Town later that same day.
