Bolton host Morecambe at the University of Bolton Stadium on Tuesday for what will be the first-ever competitive meeting between the two clubs.

The fixture was originally due to take place in December, only for it to be postponed due to an outbreak of COVID-19 within the Shrimps squad.

Wanderers have since had further matches put back, albeit due to the recent wintery conditions, and their midweek outing will set the tone for a period which will see them play at least twice-a-week all the way through to mid-March.

Ian Evatt has spoken publicly about the standard of his deadline day signings, all of whom will be eligible for selection after the EFL ratified all the necessary paperwork.

One January signing who won't be in contention, however, is Kieran Lee, who has been forced into a period of self-isolation after he was deemed to have been a close contact of an unnamed teammate whose identity has remained anonymous.

Declan John was due to start for the first time since joining on loan from Swansea City in the weekend clash at Salford City, and he is expected to remain ahead of Ben Jackson in the manager's thoughts.

Shaun Miller is available after a long-term thigh injury, although he faces competition from Nathan Delfouneso, Arthur Gnahoua and the on-loan Oladapo Afolayan for a place alongside Eoin Doyle in attack.

Antoni Sarcevic is still out with a groin problem, while Liam Edwards and Dennis Politic's prolonged absences with knee injuries continue.

Ali Crawford left the club to join Tranmere Rovers on deadline day, so Marcus Maddison may get the nod for his debut in a Wanderers shirt.
