Bolton have completed the signing of Kieran Lee, who had been available as a free agent following his departure from Sheffield Wednesday.
Lee, who has signed an 18-month contract with Wanderers, left Hillsborough last summer and had been training with the Trotters in recent weeks whilst he and club officials attempted to reach an agreement over the terms of a deal.
The 32-year-old made 30 appearances for Wednesday last season and admits his sights are set on promotion, having stepped down two levels to make the switch to the University of Bolton Stadium.
Speaking to bwfc.co.uk, Lee said: "I've been training with the club for a few weeks and I'm delighted to have now signed.
"You've only got to look around the place to see that the potential to go back up is massive. This is a club that wants to be at a higher level. I'm coming here to help the team get promotion and go as high as we can."
Lee began his career at Manchester United, progressing through the academy system at Old Trafford before going on to make three appearances at senior level.
After a loan spell at Queens Park Rangers, he made a move to Oldham Athletic in the summer of 2008 and would spend four years at Boundary Park before signing a three-year deal with Sheffield Wednesday.
Lee would eventually go on to make more than 200 appearances for the Owls over an eight-year period, scoring 22 goals, before leaving the club at the end of the 2019/20 campaign.
