Ian Evatt bemoaned Bolton's lack of consistency once again, after they crashed to a 3-0 defeat at home to Tranmere Rovers.

Wanderers, who had lost 6-3 in their previous outing at the University of Bolton Stadium, were soundly beaten by Keith Hill's side as goals from Peter Clarke, Kieron Morris and a penalty from James Vaughan gave Rovers all three points.

Speaking after the game, Evatt expressed his frustration at the nature of the goals conceded and revealed movement is to be expected when the January transfer window opens in less than a fortnight's time.

"I don't think the scoreline was reflective of the game itself," Evatt told OfficialBWFC on YouTube.

"Maybe we put too much into Tuesday because we looked lethargic at times with the ball in the first-half.

"We conceded from a set-piece which is disappointing after the way we defended our box on Tuesday.

"In the second-half we huffed and puffed, had a lot of final-third entries and opportunities but just didn't take any of them. I don't think we'd have scored in a month of Sundays.

"Every time they've had a shot it seems to have gone in. It's one of them days, one of those games and it's a lack of consistency again from us which is disappointing.

"We are consistently inconsistent other than the month of November where we looked like we were going to kick on.

"We've let ourselves down again today. I don't think the game was reflective of the scoreline itself and that seems to be a theme in football at the moment.

"We have to get our act together. We've got the January transfer window around the corner, where hopefully we'll get some bodies in that will improve us and give ourselves a chance for the rest of the season."
