Ian Evatt believes a number of Bolton players aren't pulling their weight, after seeing his side crash to a 4-0 defeat at Leyton Orient.

Having beaten Bradford City this past Tuesday, Evatt named an unchanged team for the trip to the Breyer Group Stadium as Wanderers suffered their joint-heaviest loss in the fourth tier.

Despite surviving a first-minute scare as Billy Crellin denied Danny Johnson from the penalty spot, Johnson would later go on to open the scoring before free-kicks from Jobi McAnuff and former Trotters forward sent the hosts in 3-0 up at the break.

Craig Clay added a fourth shortly before the hour to complete the scoring and when quizzed about the performance after the game, Evatt admitted the poor start to the game left Bolton with an almighty battle to claim anything from their trip to the capital.

"The way we started the game loses us all three points," Evatt told OfficialBWFC on YouTube.

"We get away with it with Billy's penalty save and then we don't learn our lesson.

"The first 15-20 minutes of every game we've played has defined the result. When we've won or got results we've started well, and when we haven't started well we haven't (got a result).

"We saw the conditions and even spoke about it before the game. We spoke about not giving them a leg up, play forwards and put them on the back foot, then straight from our kick-off we do the complete opposite.

"No one listened, no lessons were learned and we lose. It's as simple as that.

"It's like taking one step forward and two steps back. It's tough to take.

"As a group, we cannot accept mediocrity and that's what we're accepting, I feel, at the minute. I feel like we're just happy, content.

"Whether that's playing for Bolton Wanderers or content with picking up results in this month, we think we can turn up and it will happen again and again. You have to earn the right in every game and you have to start on the front foot.

"You need to do the ugly side first and foremost. You have to give yourselves a chance and we didn't even do that today with the way we started."
