Ian Evatt has blasted his underperforming players, saying they - and he - won't be at Bolton for long unless their is a dramatic shift in effort levels.

Zak Dearnley scored in the final minute as Oldham Athletic beat Wanderers 2-1 at the University of Bolton Stadium on Saturday, a defeat Evatt believes was fully deserved.

Speaking after the full-time whistle, the Trotters Head Coach was critical of his team's performance, accusing too many of being in their 'comfort zone' and thinking they have made it by being at a club of Bolton's stature.

"We weren't good enough," Evatt told OfficialBWFC on YouTube.

"It took them to score for us to start playing with more tempo, intensity, anger.

"We got ourselves back in the game and looked comfortable, but in the second half we didn't do enough.

"We deserved to lose and we have to front it up. Whether it was a last-minute goal or not, we deserved to lose the game.

"It isn't good enough from every single one of us. Myself included, we're all under the same banner.

"We can say what we want, speak about things and we can also train like we have this week - be exceptional in training - but it means nothing if you don't turn up on a Saturday.

"For whatever reason our mentality is shocking. There are too many weak characters. Too many that lack drive, desire and it needs to change.

"We haven't kicked on because of our own mentality - no other reason.

"We don't push ourselves. There are too many in their comfort zone, too many happy to be at Bolton Wanderers and think they've made it because they're here. Well they haven't.

"You haven't made it because you're at Bolton Wanderers. You won't be here very long, or I won't be here very long, unless we start to change it and work hard for each other.

"We need to run for each other, spring for each other, have desire and passion and then be better with the ball.

"I'm not even thinking about Tuesday yet because that hurts. It hurts me and it should hurt them as well."
