Yoan Zouma's hopes of a return to Bolton are over, after Head Coach Ian Evatt opted not to offer the defender a new contract following a trial period at the club.
Zouma arrived at Wanderers from French side Angers in August 2018 and, after an impressive debut season with the under-23 side, made his senior bow in defeat at Wycombe Wanderers on the opening day of the 2019/20 campaign.
He would make a total of 23 appearances under managers Phil Parkinson and Keith Hill, before departing the University of Bolton Stadium when his deal expired this past June.
Evatt recently revealed he had wanted to retain the services of the 22-year-old, who he felt had been poorly advised by his agent with the lure of an increased wage at alternative clubs.
After a move elsewhere failed to materialise, Zouma was invited back to train at the Trotters' Lostock base but Evatt has decided to focus his efforts on the arrival of other players following a disappointing start to life in League Two.
