Bolton have completed the signing of Andrew Tutte, who had been available as a free agent following his release by Morecambe.

Tutte spent time on trial with Wanderers earlier in the summer and impressed sufficiently to be offered a 12-month contract at the University of Bolton Stadium - becoming Ian Evatt's 16th summer arrival.

A former England youth international, the 29-year-old midfielder came through the academy system at Manchester City and has since gone on to represent the likes of Rochdale, Shrewsbury Town, Yeovil Town and Bury, prior to his switch to Morecambe in 2018.

"I'm buzzing and over the moon to sign for such a big club like this and I can't wait to get started," Tutte told

"I got to know the lads when I was in training earlier in the summer and I get on with every single one of them.

"I've been promoted from this league before and I know what it takes to succeed at this level. This group of players are capable of that, 100%!"

Tutte is understood to have rejected an offer to join Accrington Stanley in recent days and will wear the number 18 shirt during his time with the Trotters.
