Bolton have been drawn against Crewe Alexandra, Shrewsbury Town and Newcastle United in the group stage of the 2020/21 EFL Trophy.
Wanderers will begin their assault on League Two when the new league season begins on September 12, 2020, but they face two cup ties before the big kick-off - with a Carabao Cup first-round clash at home to Bradford City pencilled in for September 5.
Ian Evatt's side will be in EFL Trophy action in the midweek between those dates, however, with the opening round of group matches due to take place on September 8/9.
Matchday two will be held on October 6/7, with the final round of fixtures prior to the knockout stage taking place on November 10/11.
Further details on opposition, venues, dates and kick-off times will be revealed in due course, although restrictions in place due to the COVID-19 pandemic likely means supporters will be unable to attend in the short-term.
