Bolton have completed the signing of Antoni Sarcevic, who had been available as a free agent following his release by Plymouth Argyle.

Sarcevic, who has signed a two-year contract with Wanderers, scored 11 goals in 38 appearances for the Pilgrims this past season as they won promotion to League One - with a return of 10 in league competition being beaten by just 10 others, including new teammate Eoin Doyle.

The 28-year-old, who primarily operates from central midfield, had been named Player of the Year at Home Park but decided against an extended deal in favour of a return to his native North West.

"I'm delighted and over the moon to sign for this football club," Sarcevic told

"The club speaks for itself. As soon as Bolton Wanderers comes knocking on the door it's a massive plus.

"When I found out about the club's interest it was a move I wanted to get done straight away.

"I'm a North West lad so I know all about the club. I'm proud to be associated with Bolton Wanderers and I can't wait to get going."

After being released by Manchester City as a teenager, Sarcevic made his senior debut whilst on the books of Woodley Sports and has since gone on to have spells at Crewe Alexandra, Chester, Fleetwood Town and Shrewsbury Town, all prior to his move to Plymouth in January 2017.

Adding to the comments of his new signing, Wanderers Head Coach Ian Evatt said he cannot wait to begin working with the midfielder when pre-season training begins next Monday.

"Antoni is an all action midfielder who can score and assist and I'm delighted that we have brought him on board," he said.

"His record at this level is exceptional and his arrival is yet another statement signing for the club.

"We cannot wait to get started."
