Ryan Lowe appears to have ruled himself out of contention for the vacant managers' post at Bolton, insisting he is fully committed to Plymouth Argyle.

Barrow boss Ian Evatt is the bookmakers' favourite to succeed Keith Hill at the University of Bolton Stadium, with negotiations over a compensation package understood to be continuing over the weekend.

Lowe had been amongst the early front runners for the post and speculation continues to surface, but the former Bury chief has distanced himself by saying commenting on every rumour only adds fuel to the fire of lazy journalism and only chairman Simon Hallett will be able to remove him from his current role.

"I've got two years left on my contract - if Mr Hallett wants to interrupt that then that's fine - but I'm not going anywhere," Lowe told Plymouth Argyle's official YouTube channel.

"We've spoken about this, I'm reading comments from people saying my body language looks terrible or me and Simon have got a rift.

"No, we haven't! We've got a great relationship.

"We don't want to come out every time I'm the bookies' favourite for 'A' job, 'B' job or 'C' job. It happens.

"We've had back-to-back promotions so of course people are potentially going to want to hire us, but at this moment in time we're contracted to Plymouth Argyle Football Club.

"Who knows where football takes you in the future but at this moment in time I'm fully committed to Plymouth Argyle.

"We don't want to keep coming out when there's speculation to say there's no truth in this or that, because it's just for lazy journalists who want to report on something instead of real stuff.

"We're not going to come out and comment on anything that I'm linked with. We're going to keep it all in house - me, my staff and everyone associated who has come with us are committed.

"So, for all the moaners, groaners and keyboard warriors who are spreading rumours, please stop because it doesn't help."

Argyle CEO Andrew Parkinson reiterated those comments, accepting Lowe would be continually linked to other clubs due to the success achieved in his young career.

"It's testament in some ways to the success Ryan has brought to us," Parkinson said.

"He's going to be linked to other jobs but that doesn't mean, as Ryan said, that we need to comment every time there's a rumour.

"It makes sense in this particular case because Ryan has twice got teams from League Two to League One, but it's no more than that and the club shouldn't have to comment at every turn.

"As he said, he's fully committed."
