Bolton were the only club in the top five tiers of English football not to spend a single penny on agents' fees for the 12-month period ending January 31, 2020.

Wanderers were involved in 24 player transactions in that time, but were unable to exchange money due to the restrictions of a transfer embargo placed upon them as a consequence of entering administration in May 2019.

League One clubs spent a combined total in excess of £3.9million - with Sunderland amounting for more than one-third alone - while League Two (£1.1million) and National League (£319,634) clubs posted lower totals, as expected.

Championship clubs accumulated fees of £49.2million, whilst more than £263million was paid by Premier League teams - with Liverpool (£30.3million) topping the list ahead of Manchester City (£29million), Manchester United (£27.6million) and Chelsea (£26.2million).

Bolton still have 12 months to run on their transfer embargo but with their search for a new manager continuing to gather pace, fees are likely to be posted in next year's figures.
