Bolton defender Liam Edwards has been ruled out for the rest of the season after suffering a broken kneecap in training.
Edwards, who has made seven appearances in all competitions this season, picked up the injury during a practice session on Monday and will discover in the coming days whether surgery will be required to correct the problem.
The 23-year-old recently penned a new contract which will keep him at the University of Bolton Stadium until the summer of 2022 and it is anticipated he will be available for pre-season training when players report back to their Lostock training base over the summer.
