Bolton will look to avoid a fifth successive defeat when they return to action on Tuesday, with a trip to face Blackpool at Bloomfield Road.

A 1-0 loss at Milton Keynes Dons on Saturday left Wanderers 20 points from safety at the foot of the League One table and with the unwanted record of having made the worst start to a calendar year of any squad in the club's long and illustrious history.

Keith Hill's side have picked up just four points from their 10 league games since the turn of the year - with only Tranmere Rovers (2) collecting fewer amongst clubs in the third tier - although Blackpool have accumulated the same figure as the Trotters and recently sacked manager Simon Grayson with the Seasiders languishing in 16th place.

The Bolton boss has no fresh injury concerns ahead of the short journey across Lancashire, with the involvement of Ali Crawford and Jacob Mellis his biggest selection headache.

Crawford played 73 minutes at Stadium MK at the weekend in what was his first appearance since October, while Mellis was substituted after 57 minutes as he also steps up his fitness.

Both midfielders are likely to be dropped to the bench, opening the door for the likes of Sonny Graham and Jason Lowe, with the latter's movement out of defence set to provide Josh Emmanuel with a starting role at right-back.

Ronan Darcy failed a fitness on a foot injury last time out and isn't expected to feature once more, while Yoan Zouma, Will Buckley and Anthony Georgiou remain sidelined.

Kean Bryan is a doubt after sitting out the last two games, meaning Jack Hobbs and Toto Nsiala should continue at the heart of defence.
