Wycombe Wanderers travel to Bolton for the very first time on Saturday, as the two sides go head-to-head in League One competition.

Despite accumulating 279 years of history between them, the opening day clash at Adams Park remains the only competitive meetings between the clubs - an occasion where the Chairboys would run out 2-0 winners over a youthful looking Trotters outfit then under the guidance of Phil Parkinson.

With 16 games of the campaign to go, the Trotters look certain to suffer back-to-back relegations and drop into League Two next term, while Wycombe are all but guaranteed a highest-ever league position as they look to achieve promotion to the Championship for the first time in their existence - 27 years after entering the EFL.

Keith Hill has a depleted backline from which to choose from, with Jack Hobbs, Kean Bryan and Toto Nsiala all rated as doubtful.

Hobbs was forced off after an hour of Tuesday's defeat at Doncaster Rovers on what had been his first appearance since October, while Bryan also had to be substituted at the Keepmoat Stadium.

Nsiala missed that game having been knocked temporarily unconscious in last weekend's loss at Coventry City, although a decision on his inclusion is likely to be left until the last possible minute.

Yoan Zouma and Sonny Graham continue to be assessed and could yet be named in the squad, but there will be no place yet again for the injured Will Buckley, Ali Crawford, Ronan Darcy and Anthony Georgiou.

Dennis Politic is expected to return after recovering from a brief illness picked up at the start of the week.

Bolton Wanderers: from: Matthews, Alexander, Emmanuel, Bunney, Hobbs, Delaney, Fleming, Bryan, Brockbank, Edwards, Nsiala, Zouma, Lowe, L Murphy, Mellis, Hamilton, Politic, Graham, D Murphy, O'Grady, Faal, Dodoo
