Keith Hill was left cursing his luck after losing three more first-team players on the evening of Bolton's defeat at Doncaster Rovers.

Wanderers fans were surprised by the omission of Dennis Politic when teams were announced ahead of kick-off, more so after the club's official social media channels publicly released images of the Romanian's shirt hanging in the dressing room at the Keepmoat Stadium.

Speaking after the 2-1 loss, Hill revealed the 19-year-old was a late withdrawal due to illness - leaving his squad with only six named substitutes - while both Jack Hobbs and Kean Bryan had to be replaced during the game itself after picking up injuries - with the former making his first appearance in four months after recovering from a long-standing back problem.

"I think he (Jack Hobbs) has got an injury," Hill told OfficialBWFC on YouTube.

"Pre-game, Toto (Nsiala) wasn't available. Dennis Politic was declared unwell and during the course of the game Jack Hobbs has had to come off.

"Kean Bryan also had to come off with an injury, so we're in the trenches and we're fighting."
