Will Buckley has left Bolton Wanderers, after his short-term contract at the University of Bolton Stadium came to an end.

Buckley, who initially joined Wanderers on a free transfer from Sheffield Wednesday in June 2017, left the club this past summer only to return in September following Keith Hill's unveiling as manager.

The 30-year-old made four appearances before a fractured kneecap forced him to miss three months of action - returning as a substitute in the New Year's Day defeat to Burton Albion.

In total, Buckley made 65 appearances during his two-and-a-half years with the Trotters and scored six goals.
