Bolton Take Toto Nsiala on Loan from Ipswich

Bolton have announced the signing of Toto Nsiala, who joins the club on loan from Ipswich Town for the remainder of the season.

Nsiala, who operates as a central defender, joined the Tractor Boys from Shrewsbury Town in August 2018 and made 24 appearances during his debut campaign at Portman Road.

A further nine have followed so far this season but with just three league outings thus far, manager Paul Lambert has decided the time is right to grant the 27-year-old an opportunity to gain first-team football elsewhere.

Capped once by DR Congo, Nsiala won the National League play-offs with Grimsby Town in 2016 before ending his time at Shrewsbury Town with a Checkatrade Trophy runners-up medal in 2018. He has also represented Accrington Stanley, Southport and Hartlepool United at senior level, having initially progressed through the youth ranks at Everton.

The formalities of Nsiala's move was rubber stamped by EFL officials prior to noon on Friday, making him eligible for selection when Wanderers travel to Rochdale on Saturday afternoon.
