Scott Oldham will referee New Year's Day's Sky Bet League One fixture between Bolton and Burton Albion at the University of Bolton Stadium.
Wanderers go into the game on the back of a 1-1 draw at home to Shrewsbury Town on Sunday, while the Brewers were beaten 2-0 at Accrington Stanley that same afternoon.
Oldham, who will take charge of the game, has officiated 22 matches so far this season - issuing 65 yellow cards and two red.
His most recent outing was on December 29, when he was the man in the middle for Port Vale's 2-0 victory over Swindon Town in League Two. The Lancashire official brandished two yellow cards at Vale Park, both of which went to members of the home side.
Oldham's last match in charge of Bolton was on November 2, when they were 2-1 winners over Fleetwood Town in a League One clash at the University of Bolton Stadium. Five players were cautioned that afternoon, including Wanderers duo Jake Wright and Luke Murphy.
The last time he refereed a Burton fixture was on May 4, as they were beaten 3-1 by Peterborough United in a League One encounter at the ABAX Stadium. Two players entered the book that afternoon, including Albion midfielder Marcus Harness.
