Connor Hall could be facing another spell on the sidelines after picking up a hamstring injury in Bolton's FA Cup defeat to Plymouth Argyle.

Hall, who came on as a substitute for his first appearance of the campaign, limped out of the game during second-half stoppage time at the University of Bolton Stadium with Wanderers having already used all three of their permitted changes.

The 21-year-old had looked set to start the campaign as first-choice forward for the Trotters, only to suffer an ankle injury on the eve of the opening-day defeat at Wycombe Wanderers, and Hill was quick to label his player as 'unlucky' after falling behind the likes of Daryl Murphy, Chris O'Grady and Joe Dodoo in the pecking order during his previous absence.

"Unfortunately we've lost Connor Hall again," Hill told OfficialBWFC on YouTube.

"He's got a hamstring injury. I think his second name is 'unlucky'.

"He came on as a substitute. We were rolling the dice because I felt we needed a different option as they were defending very deep.

"We were going more direct in trying to make something happen. I put Connor on and unfortunately he's got re-injured."
