Bolton and Plymouth Argyle will enter battle for the first time since 1993, with the two sides meeting in the first round of the FA Cup.

Almost 26 years since Andy Walker and Mark Seagraves were on target in a 3-1 victory for Wanderers in a Division Two fixture at Burnden Park, the clubs - now separated by just 13 places in the football pyramid - will lock horns to determine who will progress into the next round of the world's oldest club football competition.

The Trotters have entered at this stage just once in the last 25 seasons - winning 1-0 at home to Grimsby Town in 2016 - and are aiming to maintain a record which has seen them play in round three every year since 1990.

Keith Hill, current Bolton boss and former Pilgrims player, has no fresh selection concerns ahead of the visit of the League Two side, and could yet be boosted by the return of a couple of previously absent names.

Jake Wright made his return from injury in last weekend's win over Fleetwood Town, completing 90 minutes alongside Yoan Zouma at the heart of the defence, and this weekend could see the inclusion of on-loan Josh Earl after he stepped up his recovery from a torn thigh.

Jack Hobbs continues to be monitored for a back injury which has plagued his campaign to date, while Harry Brockbank and Liam Edwards are also on the comeback trail after sitting out a number of games in recent months.

Ben Alnwick, Joe Bunney, Will Buckley, Ali Crawford and Liam Bridcutt remain on the treatment table with long-term problems, leaving Hill with virtually the same squad available as he did last time out.

Bolton Wanderers: from: Matthews, Alexander, Emmanuel, Hobbs, Wright, Chicksen, Brockbank, Edwards, Zouma, Boon, Earl, Senior, Lowe, L Murphy, Weir, Verlinden, Politic, Graham, King-Harmes, D Murphy, O'Grady, Dodoo, Hall
