Bolton will look to record a third consecutive victory on Saturday, when they host Fleetwood Town at the University of Bolton Stadium.

After picking up maximum points at Bristol Rovers was backed up with a Leasing.com Trophy success at home to Manchester City U21, there is a real feel of progression at a club which has recorded back-to-back wins for the first time since August 2018.

Another three-points over the Cod Army - preserving a perfect record over a side from the Fylde coast - would see Keith Hill's men register three victories on the bounce for the first time since a run of five back in March 2017.

As has been the case on so many occasions in recent years, however, they will go about their business with yet another long-term injury dominating headlines.

Ali Crawford required more than four minutes of treatment during Tuesday's win over City's U21s before leaving the field on a stretcher, and he begins what is likely to be an absence of several months after suffering what is believed to be a knee ligament problem.

Josh Earl is another to be ruled out after suffering a tear to his thigh in the recent win at Bristol Rovers, meaning they join an injury list already consisting of Ben Alnwick, Joe Bunney, Will Buckley and Liam Bridcutt.

Jack Hobbs continues to be assessed for an ongoing back complaint, while Jake Wright, Harry Brockbank, Liam Edwards and Thibaud Verlinden could force themselves into contention after stepping up their respective recoveries.

James Weir was handed a first start since September last time out, only to be substituted after 37 minutes due to what manager Hill described as a performance full of mistakes. With the former Manchester United academy graduate likely to be dropped, Sonny Graham could be handed a starting role in his place.
