Sonny Graham looks set to compete for a first-team place at Bolton, after impressing manager Keith Hill in Tuesday's defeat at Rochdale.

Graham, who made his senior debut in a goalless draw against Coventry City on August 10, is yet to feature in league competition under Hill's stewardship, but was handed a starting role at the Crown Oil Arena in the Trophy.

Speaking after that game, the Wanderers boss admitted he had no qualms over the inclusion of the 17-year-old and has tipped the midfielder to push on for further chances at League One level.

"I like him and I'm not afraid to give him his opportunity," Hill told OfficialBWFC on YouTube.

"He was a silent success (against Rochdale). I thought he went about his business superbly.

"He's a quick learner and he understands the way that we want to play the game.

"He'll be given an opportunity to stay with the first-team because of his attitude and his ability to press an opponent, then play a simple pass so we can get out the other side.

"He's amazing and I'm really pleased for him."
