Bolton have confirmed all outstanding football creditors - including past and present players - will receive back payment of wages by November 6.

Wanderers, who were taken over by the Football Ventures consortium in August, hit the headlines again this week after former midfielder Gary O'Neil revealed in an interview with talkSPORT that salaries from February onwards had still not been received.

The club has moved swiftly to allay fears of further financial mismanagement at the University of Bolton Stadium, with a spokesperson saying the new owners will meet a November deadline which was agreed prior to their official unveiling.

A statement read: "Prior to the purchase of Bolton Wanderers Football Club by Football Ventures (Whites) Ltd (FVW), the players at the Club were not paid their salaries for a number of months.

"FVW has assumed the responsibility for paying all outstanding football creditors in accordance with EFL Rules as part of its role in saving the Club.

"Agreements have been reached with all football creditors, including the players currently contracted to BWFC in accordance with the terms of FVW's original offer.

"Former Bolton Wanderers players who are not contracted to the Club will be paid all outstanding money owed in full by November 6.

"The Club would like to thank the Professional Footballers' Association for their assistance and its players for their understanding."
