Keith Hill didn't hold back in his criticism of Yoan Zouma, stating a mistake from the young defender cost Bolton victory against Sunderland.

Jack Hobbs had given Wanderers a 50th minute lead at the University of Bolton Stadium, but the Black Cats equalised in the second minute of stoppage time as Aiden McGeady fired home from the penalty spot after Zouma was adjudged to have handballed inside the box.

Speaking after the game, Hill agreed with the decision of referee Ollie Yates, saying Zouma's mistake was 'naive' but poor.

"It was a penalty," Hill told OfficialBWFC on YouTube.

"My only reflection looking at it is 'don't handball it'. There were players who were probably going to get into covering positions.

"Our goalkeeper was outstanding and would probably have saved a shot if it had got off. I'm not too sure whether it would but don't give the penalty away.

"It's a poor mistake - naive but wrong. It's cost us three points, there's no question about that."
