Bolton have concluded their business on transfer deadline day with the free signing of Daryl Murphy from Nottingham Forest.

Murphy, whose deal at the City Ground was mutually terminated on Monday, has signed a deal which will keep him at the University of Bolton Stadium for the duration of the campaign.

A veteran forward now in his 15th season as a professional, Murphy has amassed more than 450 appearances for clubs such as Sunderland, Sheffield Wednesday, Ipswich Town, Celtic, Newcastle United and the aforementioned Forest.

He scored six times in 32 appearances last season but had yet to feature this term, with a drop into League One potentially serving as the swansong of his career.
