Charlton Athletic have completed the signing of Erhun Oztumer, 24 hours after he was granted release from his contract at Bolton.

Oztumer, who successfully won an appeal to have his deal terminated at the University of Bolton Stadium, has signed two-year terms with the Addicks and becomes their 13th signing of the summer.

Although the Championship transfer window came to a close on August 8, the fact Oztumer's original notice of resignation was submitted prior to that date means he has been given free agent status by the EFL and will be permitted to play with immediate effect.

The move sees the 28-year-old return to The Valley, 11 years after he departed their academy, and he admits to looking forward to the journey ahead.

"It feels great," Oztumer told "It's nice to see a few faces I haven't seen in a while.

"I'm very happy to be here and looking forward to enjoying football again.

"I'm a local lad and I've kept an eye on Charlton since I left, so I'm happy to be happy to be here, playing in the Championship.

"The team has started really well so I'll fight for my place, work hard and see where it takes us."

Oztumer's move to Charlton will see him link up with three former Wanderers players, with Darren Pratley, Ben Amos and Josh Cullen all on the books of Lee Bowyer's side.
