Tom Nield will referee Saturday's Sky Bet League One opener between Wycombe Wanderers and Bolton at Adams Park.

Wanderers go into the game on the back of a tumultuous pre-season which has taken in player strikes, postponed friendlies and an ongoing battle with administration, whilst the Chairboys have come through relatively unscathed - with a goalless draw at Maidenhead United last Friday ensuring they remained unbeaten over the summer warm-up fixtures.

Nield, who will take charge of the game, officiated 21 matches last season - including seven in the third tier - showing 68 yellow cards and three red.

His most recent outing was on April 27, when he was the man in the middle for Cheltenham Town's 3-2 victory over Swindon Town in League Two. The West Yorkshire official brandished four yellow cards at Whaddon Road, three of which went to members of the victorious hosts.

Nield has never previously taken charge of Bolton, but did referee Wycombe in September 2018 as they were beaten 3-2 by Southend United in a League One clash at Adams Park. The official kept his cards in his pocket on that occasion.

Below is the full set of officials for Sunday's game between Wycombe Wanderers and Bolton:

Referee: Tom Nield
Assistant Referees: Grant Taylor and Stuart Butler
Fourth Official: Conor Farrell
