Bolton will face Manchester City's under-21 side in the EFL Trophy, after the draw for the group stage was concluded on Friday.

Wanderers knew in advance that they had been grouped with both Bradford City and Rochdale in Group F but Paul Harsley's side, who reached the quarter-finals before being eliminated by Sunderland last season, will provide potentially the biggest test.

City, along with seven other 'invited' clubs from the Premier League, must name six players in their starting XI who were under the age of 21 as of June 30, 2019. In addition to this, they may only list two players on their team sheet who are over the age of 21 and have more than 40 senior appearances to their name.
