David Wheater could be confirmed as a Kilmarnock player on Friday, after featuring as a trialist in their pre-season defeat to Dinamo Bucharest.
Wheater, whose contract with Bolton expired this past weekend, has spent the week training with the Scottish Premiership side and played the second half of their loss in Marbella.
Florin Bejan, Dan Nistor and Andreas Mihaiu were all on target for the Romanian outfit, in a game which also saw former Preston North End and Fulham midfielder Ben Pringle and Finland international forward Tim Vayrynen handed trials.
Killie will face Welsh side Connah's Quay Nomads in a UEFA Europa League qualifier next Thursday, with Wheater and any other potential signings requiring ratification by close of business on Friday to be deemed eligible for selection.
