Craig Noone has finalised a move to Melbourne City, which will come into effect when his contract at Bolton expires on June 30.

Noone, who joined Wanderers on a free transfer from Cardiff City in August 2017, scored twice in 65 appearances for the club, but saw his time at the University of Bolton Stadium end on a sour note after the Trotters were relegated to League One.

The 32-year-old has signed a two-year deal and joins former Wanderers stars Adam Le Fondre and Jem Karacan in next season's A-League, which isn't due to begin until October following the conclusion of an extended winter break.

"I'm excited to join Melbourne City and test myself in the A-League," Noone told Melbourne City's official website.

"This is an ambitious club that wants to win trophies while playing an exciting style of football.

"I want to win and be competing for silverware. I've come here to help the team and make a difference going forward in creating and scoring goals.

"I know a few players in Australia and know the quality is good. I'm expecting it to be physical and fast-paced and can't wait to step out in front of the fans for the first time at AAMI Park."
