Joe Pritchard has agreed terms on a two-year deal with Accrington Stanley, which will take effect when his contract at Bolton expires on June 30.

Pritchard, who joined Wanderers from Tottenham Hotspur in June 2018, made five appearances for the Trotters last season as they were relegated from the Championship.

He had been tipped for a bright future at the University of Bolton Stadium, but the club's well documented off-field issues left the 22-year-old with little option but to seek first-team opportunities elsewhere - with the majority of clubs set to report for pre-season training in the next three-to-four weeks.

Stanley boss John Coleman believes he can offer Pritchard the chance to forge a successful career, believing the midfielder's versatility can aid their quest for consolidation in League One next season.

Speaking to, Coleman said: "I looked at him when he played for Bolton Under-23s.

"He broke into their first team last season and I have tracked his progress. When he became available it was a good fit for both parties.

"He will be good for us and we can kick start his career like we have with a lot of previous number 10s.

"Joe is a good footballer, he is intelligent, he can play on both wings and he can play in the hole. He is the right age for us and he fits our model."
